Nomad Coffee - Competition - Fellow Farms, Washed Gesha
Colombia — Fellow Farms, Finca La Inmaculada - Gesha (Washed)
Tastes Like — 🌹 Roses • 🍈 Lychee • 🍊 Candied Orange
DETAILS
Project: Fellow Farms Processing: Finca La Inmaculada
Region: Huila & Cauca, Colombia
Varietal: Gesha
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1,700–2,000 MASL
Harvest: 2025
Size: 250g
INTRO
A delicate, elegant Gesha from one of Colombia's most thoughtfully constructed sourcing projects. The washed process brings full clarity to the variety — roses and lychee in the aroma, candied orange woven through the cup, with an unctuous body, honeyed acidity, and a long, rose-petal finish.
THE PRODUCER
Fellow Farms is a sourcing initiative launched in 2022, in which Finca La Inmaculada partners with smallholder farms in Huila and Cauca, purchasing their coffee at premium prices alongside agronomic support and training in best harvest practices. The project also works with AMCAPEC — an association of women coffee producers from the municipalities of Tambo, Piendamó, and Caldono in Cauca — bringing greater transparency and fairer returns to producers who would otherwise have limited market access.
All coffee from the Fellow Farms project is processed at Finca La Inmaculada, which guarantees consistency and full traceability across every lot.
THE PROCESS
Cherries from the partner farms are received at La Inmaculada and go through a flotation selection to remove leaves, stones, and low-density fruit, followed by electronic sorting for optimal ripeness and a final manual selection pass. The highest-quality cherries are then pulped, washed, and dried under controlled conditions — in the case of this lot, a 15-day drying period down to 10.5% moisture content.
THE CUP
Gesha at its most transparent — washed, precise, and deeply floral. This is a coffee that rewards slow, attentive brewing: complex enough to keep revealing itself cup after cup, and elegant enough to make it worth the effort.
