About the Coffee

Hacienda Barbara – La Huaca Gesha Washed Lot 12 is an elegant and expressive Gesha, showcasing the farm’s dedication to quality and sustainability. The cup opens with fragrant rose and jasmine notes, layered with bright citrus and juicy cantaloupe flavors. Silky and vibrant in texture, the coffee offers balance, sweetness, and clarity from the first sip to the lingering finish.

Hacienda Barbara, run by the Rogers Family and guided by agronomist Hunter Tedman, focuses on responsible farming, long-term soil health, and meticulous processing. La Huaca, meaning ā€œtreasure,ā€ sits at 1600 m on the slopes of Piedra de Candela. While most of the farm is planted with Catuai, the higher sections are reserved for small-lot Gesha. Around 70 hectares are preserved as protected forest, supporting biodiversity and overall farm health.

In the Cup

This washed Gesha embodies Hacienda Barbara’s signature elegance.

The cup opens with delicate rose and jasmine aromas, flowing into bright citrus and cantaloupe layers. Silky and expressive, the finish is long, refined, and harmonious—a beautifully balanced Panamanian Gesha experience.

We recommend brewing with beans that areĀ at least two weeks off roast. All beans are roasted to peak flavour at around 8-12 weeks. We have the option to either purchase standard beans (at least 2 weeks but no longer than 6 weeks off roast), or rested beans (at least 7 weeks off roast, no longer than 12). For peak flavour, if you are looking to use immediately, we recommend purchasing the rested beans. If you are adding to your rotation of beans, we recommend purchasing the standard and allowing the beans to naturally rest and mature whilst you rotate through other beans.
